Sisterhood's innovative programs and projects benefit the women of Temple Beth-El and their families. Sisterhood operates the Judaica Shop at Temple Beth-El, assists with catering for B’nei Mitzvah and other occasions, and organizes many other fundraisers for Sisterhood projects. The funds generated by Sisterhood projects underwrite all Religious School teacher and madrichim salaries, the Braille and Hearing Aid Programs, "We Care" holiday packages for college students and the elderly, supplies for the Mitzvah Mavens who offer meals to those in need, gifts for B’nei Mitzvah, and numerous other activities. Sisterhood provides social opportunities for the congregation and sponsors holiday celebrations throughout the year.
Temple Beth-El’s Sisterhood is affiliated with the Women of Reform Judaism, connecting us globally with its more than 100,000 members.

The goal of this award is to inspire in the general membership the desire to work for the mutual benefit of the Sisterhood and Congregation. Its purpose is to foster a new dedication on the part of the individual to the ideals for which the Sisterhood stands.
Any member of the Sisterhood in good standing is eligible for the Award, which is presented at the Candlelight Luncheon each year. Exceptions to the eligibility are current Executive Officers and the Past Presidents. The Executive Committee, comprised of the seven Executive Officers, accepts written suggestions from the membership and makes the final selection. Florence F. Fischgrund was the donor of this Award which dates back to 1953 when Rose Shulman was the first recipient.
